The Scenic Boat tour offers an hour long guided cruise through three of the seven pristine lakes and the narrow, man-made canals on the gorgeous Winter Park chain.

On any given tour, participants may observe large cranes swooping waterside to snag a large fish or a lazy alligator languishing on a nearby bank. An occasional water skier or racing shell full of crew members from the areas private liberal arts college, Rollins, are also enjoyable sideshows for tour goers.

Every tour, however, guarantees plenty of swaying palms, towering cypress trees, lush ferns and a variety of flourishing sub-tropical flowers. Breathtaking views of opulent private homes and exquisite estates sprawling along the shores are also a key feature of the scenic cruise.

The dock, is less than 5 minutes from Park Avenue, Central Florida´s popular, upscale shopping district. We will enjoy time there after the boat tour, dining at one of their many delicious restaurants and shopping. Also within walking distance is The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Admission is only $6 and $5 for seniors age 60 and older.

Itinerary:

8:00 am - Depart Lake Sumter Landing (1045 Old Mill Run)

8:20 am- Depart Brownwood - behind the Brownwood Hotel and The Center for Advanced Healthcare (click here for map)

9:45 am- Arrive at boat dock in Winter Park

10:00-11:00 am- Scenic Boat tour

11:15 am- Free time to have lunch & shop (purchase on your own)

2:30 pm- Meet at Bus for Departure

4:00 pm- Approximate arrival in The Villages

Price includes transportation, admission to boat tour, bus driver tip and a bottle of water. Lunch purchase is on your own. Host gratuity is not included.
